Maurice was born in Ayrshire Scotland, and studied at the Royal Scottish Academy Of Music And Drama. (The Royal Conservatoire Of Scotland)
Over the last 30 years his passion for singing has lead him to play various leading roles in musicals in the west end and on tour. Highlights include, Feuilly in Les Miserable, Charlie Cameron in Brigadoon directed by Roger Redfarn, Anatoly Sergievski in Tim Rice & ABBA's Chess directed by Anthony Van Laast, Jimmy Powers in Cy Colmans City Of Angels directed by Michael Blakemore, Hero in Sondheim's Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, John F Kennedy in JFK A Musical Drama directed by Larry Fuller, Claude in Hair directed by Anthony Van Laast, Cameron MacIntosh's Cafe Puccini directed by Christopher Renshaw, Guillaume in Martin Guerre directed by Conall Morrison, and Edward Moncrief in Alan J Lerner's On A Clear Day.
On television Maurice had the huge pleasure of appearing with Gary Wilmott in the BBC1 television series Showstoppers.
Over the years Maurice has been privileged to get to sing in various concert settings with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, RTE Concert Orchestra, Scottish National Orchestra, the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and has taken his own show on to the QM2 and QE2.
Recordings include: Brigadoon, City Of Angels, Martin Guerre, The Songs Of Maltby And Shire, Simply Broadway and two solo vocal albums of his own - So In Love and Grateful.
